Tumbarumba Studio

We are thrilled to be able to offer pre school ballet classes in Tumbarumba with Miss Jane.  Classes are held each Wednesday during the school term.  Our ballet students will work towards an assessment of their exercises, and a performance at the end of the year.

Miss Jane started dancing at the age of eight at Woolgoolga Performing Arts Studio on the Mid North Coast. Miss Jane trained in a variety of styles of dance including ballet, modern, contemporary, jazz, hip hop, lyrical and musical theatre.

During her time at Woolgoolga Performing Arts Studio, she was taught by many passionate and talented teachers including, Jason Winters and a former English National Ballet and Australian Ballet dancer.  Miss Jane learned the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) syllabus work to an advanced level and continues to seek training to develop her ballet technique.

In 2011 she became an assistant teacher and would go on in later years to teach at Woolgoolga Performing Arts Studio. She particularly enjoyed teaching tiny tots ballet and pre-pointe and pointe classes.

Miss Jane’s passion for dance continued to develop and in 2014 she completed her HSC in Dance, achieving a high band five for the subject. After finishing her training at Woolgoolga Performing Arts Studio, Miss Jane moved to Armidale in 2016 to complete her Bachelor of Education (Secondary Arts) at the University of New England, in the hope of becoming a high school English
and History teacher.  Whilst at university she continued dancing and teaching at New England Dance Theatre.  Whilst dancing with New England Dance Theatre she developed a passion for choreography, becoming a guest choreographer and dance teacher at a number of secondary schools in the New England region.

In 2020, Miss Jane moved to Tumbarumba to take up a position at Tumbarumba High School as an English Teacher. In 2021 she was overjoyed to be asked to teach dance as an elective subject at Tumbarumba High School. Also in 2021 she started dancing at Riverina Dance Academy, travelling from Tumbarumba each week to participate in open ballet classes with Miss Nadine Milgate. Miss Jane was then very excited to be asked to assist Miss Anne in teaching tiny tot’s ballet in Tumbarumba.    As of Term 3 2021, Miss Jane will be taking over the teaching of tiny tot’s ballet in Tumbarumba.

Miss Jane is enthusiastic about continuing her dance training and inspiring others to develop the same love for dance that she has.
